Who does not
enjoy hearing a group of children sing to the Lord? We have some very animated,
cute, sometimes wiggly, beautiful children who love to sing. Sometimes it's
during and after VBS, sometimes it's during Christmas or Easter pageants,
sometimes it's “just because” it's time for them to sing again.
We welcome all
children into the sanctuary each Sunday for worship. As a part of worship, the
pastor invites them up to the altar for “Children’s Moments”. Then those
youngsters up through 3rd grade are led to a special gathering for
their age group. Two of our adults lead them in scripture, stories, crafts and
music that broaden their own worship time.
Out of a desire to add an opportunity for parents and grandparents to have a small time-break once a month, St. Luke’s has a well-planned ministry called “Parent’s Morning Out”. One Saturday per month all children up to age 12 are invited to come and spend some fun time with church friends. While we are giving adults a break, we are giving their children Bible lessons, snacks, crafts, seasonal activities, friendship, love and ending with lunch. For the children, it’s almost like a monthly Mini-Vacation Bible School.
We welcome
children at 9:45 am each Sunday into Sunday School classes that have as its
goal to teach the Holy Bible to them. The scripture is explained in
age-appropriate language and stories that make it enjoyable, fun and
meaningful. Our teachers and kids are the best!
The Youth Choir is comprised of children who are in the 4th grade and older. They practice every Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm. The Youth Choir also performs special projects for missions and other entities. The typically bless our worship service once a month and provide special songs/programs at Christmas.
