Our church is so blessed to have a multi-faceted Music Ministry through several groups, activities and events.
We have a Chancel Choir that is usually the Sunday morning "Anthem" ministers. The 20+ member choral group brings a harmonic SATB presentation that is uplifting, praising God on a variety of Gospel topics that fits the season and weekly worship emphasis. Their "special" Christmas and Easter cantatas always moves our congregation to high degree. They are always looking for new members who express a desire to use their God-given musical talents.
In October of 2008 Teresa asked Tammy and Arlene to sing some Christmas songs with her. They enjoyed singing together so much that they decided to continue singing - thus becoming the trio - Sisters in Christ!
Their music has evolved to song choices that offered them the occasional opportunity to include Eugene in their songs. They enjoy the depth and variety he brings to the group
and sing to share the glory of our Lord and Savior through song! He has blessed them with a wonderful talent and they share it lovingly with all who will listen They draw their inspiration from our Lord and convey His message through their songs. Their hope is that someone listening to them will feel the power of the Holy Spirit and come to know Jesus.
For the last few years, we have been so thrilled to have enjoyed the contemporary, up-lifting choral presentations and skits by our Youth Choir. This quartet of young people have literally grown before our eyes in musical proficiency, Christian faith and physical stature. With any age defined group like a "youth choir" membership change is inevitable. So, it will not be long before some current members graduate to older music ministry opportunities and new participants join in.
We have had the extraordinary blessing to welcome and host a variety of Gospel artists at St. Luke's. At least once and sometimes twice a year we enjoy a concert that also brings in some of our friends and neighbors from nearby churches.
